Families that join OPHC will need a reliable internet connection to keep track of their student's learning plan and progress in a program called SDS (short for School Data Solutions). We also encourage families to use the Parent Square app where we send weekly reminders with news and upcoming events.
Students are provided a google account, with an ophckids.org email address which is used to log into Seesaw, a program we use as a communication tool. Seesaw was made with elementary students in mind and is very easy to use. Students use Seesaw to post photos of their work and/or communicate with their teacher advisor. It is the preferred method of choice for weekly contact if a student misses workshops due to illness or other extenuating circumstances.
OPHC students have the option to check out a Chromebook from OPHC's library. Chromebooks can be used at home for online curriculum, workshops that might require a chromebook to attend, and assessment testing. There is no fee to check out a chromebook, but if damage occurs there may be a fee to replace the chromebook and/or damaged parts.
We have two Facebook group sites: one for Clallam County students (attending workshops at the Methodist Church in Port Angeles), and one for Jefferson County students (attending workshops at the San Juan Baptist Church in Port Townsend) which we update with news and photos on a regular basis. Our FB groups are "closed" sites - they are only viewable to families of enrolled students.
Links to SDS, Seesaw, and Parent Square can be found in “Quick Links” at the top right hand corner of this page.
